DISNEY. THE ART OF TELLING TIMELESS TALES – Mudec
From 3 September (until 14 February 2021) the Museo delle Culture is running an exhibition dedicated to the magical world of Walt Disney, with a particular focus on the creative processes behind the immortal films produced by the US multinational. From hand-drawn cartoons to digital animation, the backstage scenarios of fairytales are revealed, comprising myths, folklore and interactive stations. Where: Via Tortona 56. NEÏL BELOUFA – Pirelli Hangar Bicocca
The interactions between image and sound, installation and sculpture, represent the fulcrum of the works by Neïl Beloufa, a French-Algerian artist who has also exhibited at Moma in New York and the Palais de Tokyo, whose first Italian solo exhibition will run at the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca from 10 September (until 17 January 2021) Where: via Chiese 2. “FRANCO GUERZONI. L’IMMAGINE SOTTRATTA” (THE STOLEN IMAGE) – Museo del Novecento
The artist from Modena occupies a quintessentially Milanese exhibition space: Franco Guerzoni, whose work – from the early 70’s to the present day – will be shown in the large Sala della Lanterna and in the Archives of the Museo del Novecento (from 9 September to 14 February 2021) to provide a full immersion in the works of one of today’s most curious and unconventional artists, ever attentive to the themes of archaeology and travel. “1920 – 2020. FEDERICO FELLINI. UN RACCONTO (A STORY)” – Palazzo Reale
From17 September (until 15 November 2020), to mark 100 years since the birth of Federico Fellini, Palazzo Reale pays a tribute to the world’s best-loved Italian film director with an exhibition layout (curated by Vincenzo Mollica and Alessandro Nicosia in collaboration with Francesca Fabbri Fellini, niece of the Romagna-born film director) which traces the artistic career of this “film maestro poised between realism and fantasy, memory and dreams”. “LAURA GIARDINO. LA LUCE OLTRE (THE LIGHT BEYOND) “- Area\B
In the Porta Romana district, from 19 September (until 31 October 2020) the Area\B Gallery hosts paintings by Laura Giardino, a collection of 15 works identifiable with the art movement of magical realism. Light plays a protagonist role and offers a lively interpretation of everyday life by hailing, as the artist herself suggests, “from an elusive beyond”. Where: Via Passo Buole 3. Free entrance
